Are you wondering what exactly a blog is? Well the word blog comes from the two terms web and log, you smash them together and you get a blog. Blog started off in the late 90’s and early 2000’s just as a way for people to like live their lives, share their story, share their thoughts and opinions or reactions to news. If you have a website where all you do is blog and write blog posts as a way to get search traffic and convert that traffic into sales and conversions of email subscribers, then you are going to refer that kind of website as a blog. So really the terminology comes down to what is the main purpose of a website.

If the primary purpose of your website is to just share your thoughts, opinions or share something about your life experiences, then you can call it a blog. While you can call it a website if its primary purpose is commercial or a combination of everything.
